Hallam Plastics Limited
The Specialists in Engineered Structural Foam
Hallam Plastics Limited are a Made in the Midlands Silver Member
Whether your project is best suited for injection moulding or engineered structural foam injection moulding, Hallam Plastics’ in-house multiple processes provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ resource. Best technical expertise ensures we efficiently manage the job from design, through tooling management and tool trials to pre-production and full production – all underpinned by our quality accreditation of ISO 9001-2008. Attention to detail and customer service support forms the basis for us delivering on time, on budget, every time.
Engineering Structural Foam
Hallam Plastics was the first company in the UK to install an engineered structural foam press, and we have been continually developing this process, which now sees us working with world-leading manufacturers. Since 1971, we have been at the forefront of innovative thermoplastic solutions and work closely with customers to create strong, durable and lightweight moulded components using engineered structural foam.
We work with customers to design, develop and evolve parts and components utilising the most advanced technologies, polymers and processes on the market; we can offer large shot weight capacity and platen sizes (15kg shot weight and 1,75m x 2.05m platens).
Our machines range from 150 tonnes to 1,000 tonnes clamping force enabling us to offer a flexible production capacity. This means that, unlike many plastic moulding companies, as well as providing great quality, cost-effective high-volume orders, we are also able to undertake low and medium volume orders at very competitive prices. This is ideal for customers looking for prototype or low volume, specialist production runs.
Our trusted network of carefully selected toolmakers are able to provide tooling for new components and parts, and we can project manage the entire process, ensuring the tools are produced on time, to budget and made to meet our customers’ exact specifications.
Over the past 40 years we have perfected the process of painting onto plastic substrates. This enables us to produce consistent finishes across the whole spectrum of polymer substrates and paint types.
In addition, Silk Screen and Tampo Pad printing is available. We can also offer RFI and MFI shielding using wet spray based coatings. This in-house capability enables us to optimise work flow ensuring high standards, consistency of finish and also reducing potential transit damage. Shorter lead times are an added bonus.Sub Assembly
Hallam has developed from a plastics processing company to a flexible and broad-based manufacturer. In responding to our customers’ changing needs (and to maintain our 1st tier supplier status) our sub-assembly department enables components from our injection and engineered structural foam moulding processes to be assembled with many other materials.
We undertake complex assembly operations and produce finished assembled products boxed and retail-ready. Furthermore, if required we undertake full responsibility for management of the upstream supply chain and supplying in kit or fully assembled form. In short we provide cost effective solutions by making greater use of the moulding cycle time which can be utilised for assembly operations.
